Mortgage Interest Tax Deduction repeal is at the top of all tax reform proposals in Washington D.C., and for good reason.  It has nearly universal support in both the private and public sector. The ONLY reason it has not been repealed or part of comprehensive tax reform is the lack of leadership.

 

The Renter's Lobby is prepared to take on this role. But, we need your help.

Residential renters will benefit significantly when this $100+  billion annual homeowner subsidy is redirected to a broader base of taxpayers. The Renter's Lobby will make every effort to make certain this translates into tangible tax savings for hard working Americans.  Repeal of the MID can be a kickstarter for millions who dream only of financial security.

 

The Renter's Lobby "flip-the-MID!" campaign can make it happen.  It's inevitable IF we unite with the broad consensus of private and public organizations, policymakers, economists, think-tanks and three (3) Presidential Commissions recommending major reform or outright repeal of this malapplied subsidy.

  • BiPartisan Policy Center Housing Commission (Henry Cisneros, Kit Bond, Mel  Martinez, George Mitchell)

PASS NATIONAL SAVINGS & INVESTMENT TAX CREDITS 

Repeal will create real financial relief for millions of American Renters.

Moreover, it can be passed with zero-sum impact on the federal budget.
